 Maya's Eyes....I See

......I gaze at your picture...with awed reverence
not  as a stalker, sycophant, or starstruck would stare

But, as one who can see...

I see the subtle , yet finely etched furrows of beauty and sorrow
...of laughter and Pain....

I see..The Caged Bird/angry, desperate, albeit, sanguine that one day
she would be able to chirp the verses of freedom with the beak of her Quill

Stanzas of Adversity, that beg for change consume my being with the fire
of someone intimately entwined with their Muse

Yet, when I see you sitting stoically unsinged by life's slings and arrows....In that picture

I feel humbled and ever ready to take up the torch that you so strong yet elegantly carried

I see....you looking at me/looking through me/ to see the kind of writer I am....The kind of man I am

I become......afraid when I see you staring back at me with  the eyes of Wisdom only whispered

My syntax fails and my poet's lexicon pales in comparison to the  Poetry/Prose and Proclamations Penned
Phenomally through your prescient prudence....

In....that picture - I see you scolding me, embracing me.....urging me to not just be, but...  to Become

For, I too am Poetry.....with stories to weave,  truths to unfurl, and myths to debunk

I  am...."A Stir Of Echoes From Verses Past"...created and cultivated in the crucible of your consciousness

I sit...calmly at your feet and ingest the pabulum from a well fed soul

A Poem About Mothers

These special people we Love like no others
We Adore and we Cherish them....A Poem About Mothers
They're there when we need them, no ifs ands or buts
Through our up and our downs/especially our ruts
We may win or we may lose, but mostly when we fail
Still, our Mothers will be there through rain, sleet, or hail
You can have almost anything, but a Mother's Love you can't buy
They'll be there in sickness....on their shoulders you'll cry
Yes, there's all kinds of family/ aunts /sisters/brothers
But, there's only one who's there always....The Ones We Call Mothers

"Where Then Can Love Be Found?"

A place where hatred is taken captive and joyous laughter will resound
But, people are devoid of Understanding...Where Then Can Love Be Found?

We're living in the Final Days/days of darkness and confusion
Through the Beast, False Prophet, Antichrist...The Masters Of Illusion

I see a land that cries for Justice, a world where evil roams
I see Warfare, Pain, and Emaciation....The Elderly Left Alone

Search deeply within your beings, why have we reached this lost condition?
Where our lives now uncertain....nonexistent apparitions

Who can we blame for all the tragedy; where can we go to find a cure?
The solution is not beyond us, only Love can make life pure

Many nations have great problems, several countries overseas
Yet, take a look, decode the cipher...they're killing minorities

Our Children, precious little ones, in recent years their hopes have waned
They been Shot down, Abused, Neglected/ each human shares in the blame

In New York City, something appalling, a day of shameful doom
A mother had a child ripped from her belly....A Seed No Chance To Bloom

Love is cloaked in elusive Mystery; carnal man cannot obtain
It can only be found if you Cleanse your Spirits/yes, its meaning is quite arcane

It's Unconditional, Very Humble, looks not on Race or Color
And, I doubt very seriously you know its worth, if you can't even Love Your Brother

I know we can reach the apogee, so Break The Chains and don't be bound
Still, until that day, I'll ask a question....Where Then Can Love Be Found?
